Percy Anderson, Jr.

The son of Mrs. Emma Jean Anderson, and the late Mr. Percy Anderson, Sr., Dr. Percy
Anderson, Jr. is a native of Madison, MS. He is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of
Tougaloo College with a B.S. in Biology. Percy received his doctorate from The
California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco, and completed his residency
at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. Dr. Anderson received his Board
Certification in Clinical Wound Management from the American Board of Wound
Management in Washington, DC; and was the first podiatrist on staff at the former
Central MS Medical Center Wound Care Clinic. He also has the distinction of being the
first physician in MS certified in Wound Care by the Council for Medical Education and
Testing; and worked in private practice for 25 years. Percy was an adjunct professor of
Anatomy & Physiology, Medical Terminology, and briefly served as Chair of the Medical Assistant Program at Herzing University in New Orleans, LA. Dr. Anderson is currently a clinical provider at G.A. Carmichael Family Health Center, as well as the Interventional Diabetes Center.

Initiated into the Gamma Upsilon Chapter on the campus of Tougaloo College, Percy is a life member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., a charter member of the Rho Xi Lambda Chapter in Canton, MS; and currently serves as President of the oldest Chapter of Alpha in the State of MS, the Alpha Epsilon Lambda Chapter in Jackson, MS. Within Alpha, he was always busy, serving many years as an advisor for Gamma Upsilon; has been two Chapter Presidents, three Chapter Vice-Presidents, a Financial Secretary; a District and local chapter Chaplain, two Chapter Parliamentarians, three Chapter and once District
Director of Educational Activities; District Program Chair, District Awards Chair, District Director of Protocol, Southern Region Representative to the fraternity’s National Programs Committee, and is the current Southern Regional Chair for Project Alpha.
Dr. Anderson is the current President of the MS Podiatric Medical Association, the local component of the American Podiatric Medical Association. He is a member of G.A. Carmichael’s Infection Control Team; is a past President, Vice President, and Treasurer of the Metro Jackson National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC); and a past Southern Region NPHC Membership Coordinator.

A Life Member of TCNAA since 2006, Percy is a member of the Jackson Tougaloo Alumni Chapter, “JTAC,” where he has served as Vice President, a part of the membership committee; and currently serves as Parliamentarian. Dr. Anderson served four years as TCNAA Hall of Fame Co- Chair; and was the first podiatrist inducted into the Hall of Fame in Medicine in 2013. He has served on the Commencement Steering Committee, the annual JTAC Thelma Sanders Scholarship Dance Committee; and
serves as a Class Agent for the Class of 1985.

Percy has been a licensed and ordained minister since 1999, an ordained elder since 2014, and is an avid fitness enthusiast. He is the proud father of three adult children, Christina Anderson, Ivan Anderson, and Maya Anderson-Brayboy; but has had his heart completely stolen by his first grandchild, Adrian Jerome “A.J.” Brayboy
