Pearlie Magee

It is with great pleasure that I, Pearlie M. Magee, submit my name for the position of vice-president for TCNAA. I am a 1980 graduate of Tougaloo where I majored in Psychology-Mental Health. I am originally from Tylertown, MS and currently reside in Wylie, TX. I am married to Jacqueline Mage and we have three children. Two of our children, Danielle Magee Donnelly ’18 and Amber Magee ’22 are graduates of Tougaloo. Danielle is a practicing veterinarian in Richardson, TX and Amber is a second year law student at Suffolk University Law School in Boston, MA. Both graduated valedictorian in their respective class at Tougaloo. Our son, Christian, is an agent with a major payroll company in Richardson, TX.

Shortly after graduating from Tougaloo I worked as the Assistant Director of Admissions and Recruitment for five years under the leadership of Mr. Halbert E. Dockins. I gained valuable knowledge and experience in this position which further solidified my love and commitment to Tougaloo.

I am a life member of TCNAA and a member of the DFW Tougaloo Alumni Chapter where I served as president of the chapter during the height of the COVID-19 period. Having to restructure how we met and conducted our meetings during COVID-19 was a challenge. We were able to successfully keep the chapter on track by switching to online meetings. Currently, I am vice-president. I have been involved with recruiting students in the area and increasing our alumni membership. In addition, I am a member of the Alpha Iota Iota Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity in Plano, TX. I serve on the fundraising committee. I retired from State Farm Insurance Company over two years ago after 34 years of service.

I am soliciting your vote for vice-president of TCNAA. Together we can make a difference. May Tougaloo College, the Eagle Queen forever stand proud.
